Jenny & Johnny - Scissor Runner

I don't know anything about the music of Jenny Lewis and Johnathan Rice, but was intrigued to read at their Jenny and Johnny Music site that "The material was fast, ultra-melodic, and often blended both of their voices into one, creating a completely new sound." That's worth an ear glance, oui?

The single available for download "Scissor Runner" is a nifty, catchy pop rocker, with Ms. Lewis' lovely harmonies and 2nd lead vocals lifting the verses and choruses to sweeter heights. Musically, the guitars and bass chug along like a mid-tempo Greg Kihn powerpop song, but the vocals help take it to a cooler place. Almost a relaxed New Pornographers sound. Worth your email address, I say.
