Take Away the Pain

HA! An ever-so-apt title to this blog post.

After the UK's streaming music community Last.FM announced a few weeks ago that its indie artists royalty program was up and running, I decided to spend take advantage of a promotion awareness campaign on the site to promote my song "Take Away the Pain" from my 2008 CD "Say Yeah!".

Basically, for 100 impressions, I paid $20, and the song is listed at Last.Fm and users can click through to it, etc...

Last.FM sent through an email last night saying the 100 impressions had been reached and the campaign was over. And (here's the fun part, in a Replacements sort of way) the results were...

"CAMPAIGN STATISTICS SUMMARY
"90 Users listened to the whole track, and of those Users, 0 Loved the track"

"10 Users skipped the track or did not listen to it to the end, and of those Users, 2 banned the track"

BANNED IN AZ!

Gee, don't they like screaming girls?

Fuck 'em. It's a great song, I don't care what they say.
