I.R.S. Greatest Hits Vols. 2 & 3

Spent some time this past weekend digging into the Dfactor LP archive, and found this treasured double LP - I.R.S. Greatest Hits Vols 2 & 3

One of my fave songs from this comp is "Action Time Vision" by Alternative TV - a snappy three-chorder about the existentialism of post-punk paranoia, and The Damned guitarist Brian James's "Ain't That A Shame" (not the Fats Domino song), a loose and limber minor chord dark pop song...you can hear this cool track at the IRS Records MySpace site.

The apparently now stagnant site IRS Corner writes....
"This is the granddaddy sampler of all samplers from I.R.S.! Four sides of great stuff, tons of rarities and (as one critic put it) at least "one tune on each side to piss you off....A swell collection no 80's music enthusiast should be without, no matter which cover you select (or can find)! Highly recommended."

This record is basically responsible for where I am (musically) today even though I bought it four years after the fact, in Myrtle Beach, SC because I liked Oingo Boingo.

My favorite songs are "Ain't That a Shame," "Baby, Sign Here with Me," and... everything else, even Skafish.

I own two copies... and the elusive Vol. 1.
