Steve Wynn Europe/UK tour

NYC rocker Steve Wynn (Dream Syndicate, Miracle 3) starts a European acoustic tour today in my old Dutch and Belgian stomping grounds. Good to read he likes his Belgian beer, yum.

"Okay, this is all a little fuzzy but what can I say? The jet lag has kicked in, certainly not helped by drinking Belgian beer until 3am in a Utrecht bar with Robert, Erik and visiting pals Hammi, Yuko and Joanne. But there was cause for celebration after the unveiling of this acoustic trio. I was a little nervous before the show but no reason for worry. It all went well and took on its own character pretty quickly which bodes well for the next 30 shows. Here's the set list:

NEW ALBUM! NEW TOUR!

After several years of recording and extensive touring with his band the Miracle 3, Steve Wynn is putting the finishing touches on “Crossing Dragon Bridge,” his first solo album since 2001’s “Here Come the Miracles.” The record was recorded in Ljubljana with Chris Eckman of the Walkabouts who also plays and sings on the record.

“We had a ball. I would wake up each morning in my apartment on some old, narrow street in Slovenia, grab a coffee, shake off the cobwebs and then make my way to the studio with a song, some ideas and pretty much limitless possibility. The life there is easy, the food is heavy and the beer is good. It all made for the right combination.”

The record will be mixed in January by Tucker Martine (Decemberists, Laura Veirs, Sufjan Stevens) and will be released in mid-April. Wynn will embark on a solo acoustic tour of Europe in February and March to preview the record.
