1990s bassist checks out

CMJ writes...."Jamie McMorrow, bassist for Glasgow indie outfit 1990s, has announced his departure in an online blog on the band's website. The band, who just released their debut album Cookies (Rough Trade), are set for a massive North American tour this fall. McMorrow sends his "best wishes to all the folk," adding that he is "off to do something else."

Does this mean he doesn't like either The Hold Steady or Art Brut? Ah, flaky bassists.... :-)
