Elvis Presley Week - Polk Salad Annie

Remembering Elvis goes on today with a look back to the late 1960s (Hilton Vegas era?) or early 1970s with this clip of Elvis doing the Tony Joe White 1970 song Polk Salad Annie.



Elvis apparently heard Tony Joe's version, then started to cover it regularly in his concerts in the 1970s. (Check this great list of songs Elvis covered in his career). Elvis looks great here, sleek, trim, and not busting out of his white-sequined suit, as he did after a few peanut butter and banana sandwiches and a few years later.
