Smashing Pumpkins - Zeitgeist

The new release from the Smashing Pumpkins - Zeitgeist - hits retail outlets Tuesday, and the world will rock. New York Mag's Lane Brown thinks so. So do a bunch of other rock crits.



Driving in the car last week in the hinterlands, I heard the CD's first single Tarantula on the radio, and I cranked the volume. It's loud and livid, or so these fading ears want to tell me. Not sure what the rest of the LP holds, but I like loud guitars, and I don't even mind Corgan's voice, PLUS I'm one of the 10 people on the planet who actually liked and actively listened to his last group Zwan. So color me compatible.

The Pumpkins play a sold-out club show Tuesday night in DC at 9:30 Club. Look for clips on Wednesday.
