Pandora
Go ahead. Open up Pandora. Plug in a band name or song title, and the Music Genome Project will search out similar and new artists and make it your online radio fun toy.
I entered The Strokes and I got "Hard to Explain" first. OK. Then in order, I got British Sea Power with "Remember Me" (rocker!), Jason Lowenstein with "I'm a Shit" (OK), he Impossible Shapes with "Survival" and onward, more Strokes included. I like it!
After about seven songs, the program ask you for free registration. Then it looks like it will be ad-supported. You can endure the ads, or bypass ads with a $36/yr. or $12/3-months subscription. Either way, looks like Pandora is going to be a new new friend!
[Thanks to Whitney for the tip.]
