Digital music sales
Spurred by the iPod revolution, digital music sales totaled $790 million in the first half of this year, equivalent to 6 percent of industry sales, the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry estimated in a report Monday.

This is really Coolfer's area, not mine, but it's astonishing to me that in just a few short years, music listening habits have shifted to to such a great degree that it affects the way we see, hear and think about bands. I wish I could write more about it, but I can't. I'm flummoxed, printed, stomped, tripped, trapped, tricked, packaged, shipped...
In another view, Edgar Bronfman, chief bean counter at Warner Music, maintains that Apple's fucking up with its iTunes pricing, and not all single-song downloads should be .99 a pop. You can read more on the matter here. What do you think? Should there be variable pricing for downloads?
